JAIPUR: The internet services were blocked across several locations in Nagaur and Churu on Friday to clamp down on inflammatory messages being circulated on social media platforms. The Rajasthan police's reserved companies were sent to Nagaur, Churu, Jaipur and other districts of the state as the body of Anandpal Singh is expected to be cremated today.

However, sources close to the slain gangster claimed that Anandpal's family would not accept the body.

On Friday afternoon, Nagaur district collector issued prohibitory orders to suspend mobile Internet services, bulk SMS, social networking websites for 48 hours in Deedwana, Ladnu, Jaswantgarh, Maulasar, Khunkhuna, Makrana, Parbatsar, Peelwa, Kuchaman, Nawa, Maroth, Chitawa and Badi Khatu areas in Nagaur, a few hours later the Churu district collector also issued the same orders.

The top brass of the Rajasthan police also met on Friday to take stock of the current situation prevailing in Nagaur, Churu and other parts of the state, especially in view of the notice of cremation issued to the slain gangster's family. "The picture would get clear only on Saturday morning, we have made our arrangements to avert any untoward situation," said a senior official of Rajasthan police.

"We suspect some protests in Jodhpur, Nagaur, Churu, Sikar, JhunJhunu, Bikaner, and some parts of Jaipur. But largely, we suspect that trouble would be confined largely to Sanvard village in Nagaur," the official added.

Additional DGP, law and order,
NRK Reddy said that four companies of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) have been sent to assist Nagaur police, "Apart from four companies of RAC, about 1,200 cops have been mobilized at Ajmer range level to help Nagaur police. The RAC companies have also been moved to Churu. Five RAC companies will be provided to Jaipur police too," Reddy said, adding that state police is keeping tight vigil over miscreants.

In Nagaur, SP
Paris Deshmukh and his additional SPs camped in Sanvard village, the native village of Anadpal where family members and supporters of Anandpal Singh have staged a protest to demand CBI probe into the encounter.

However, the Deshmukh informed TOI that number of protestors have thinned in last few days. "On Friday, there were mere 50 persons at the protest site," he added.
